Buying & Ordering

Are all your items genuinely vintage?

Yes — every piece in The Vintage Den is handpicked by us. We source from house clearances, estate sales, auctions, and local markets across the North East and beyond. 

Are the items in perfect condition?

As with all vintage and antique pieces, our items may show signs of age, wear, or use — and we think that's part of their charm. We describe each piece honestly, including any marks, chips, or repairs, and provide photos that reflect the true condition. If you'd like additional photos or measurements, just ask before you buy. Some pieces are rescued furniture as we actively work to avoid vintage furniture going to landfills. Where this is the case, these pieces will show a before and after photograph so you can compare and see the original piece pre-refinishing. 

Can I reserve an item?

We're unable to hold items without payment. If you're interested in something, we'd recommend purchasing promptly to avoid missing out. We are happy to hold items that are paid for to work around you for delivery. 

Do you offer trade or bulk discounts?

We welcome enquiries from interior designers and trade buyers. Get in touch at mail@vintageden.co.uk to discuss.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship across the UK?

Yes, we ship to UK wide for smaller items. We are always happy to ship furniture to areas outside of the mainland but will we will need to request a quotation for this to provide an accurate price. Smaller items are sent via courier. For larger furniture pieces, delivery is arranged individually — please contact us before purchasing to confirm delivery options and costs for your area if you are outside of the mainland. 

Do you offer local collection or viewing?

We're based in the Consett, Co Durham, North East of England and are happy to arrange local viewings or collection for larger pieces where possible. Just mention it when you get in touch.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Smaller items are typically dispatched within 1-3 business days. Larger furniture pieces may take longer to arrange however we do book the courier within 24 hours of your order— we'll keep you updated every step of the way. As a rule, furniture is usually delivered within 3-5 days. 

Returns & Condition

What is your returns policy?

We offer a 30-day returns policy. Items must be returned in the same condition as sent. For full details, visit our Returns page.

What if my item arrives damaged?

Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photos and your order details. We'll do our best to resolve it quickly — whether that's a refund, replacement, or another solution.

North East Vintage Rescue

What is North East Vintage Rescue?

North East Vintage Rescue is our sister company offering free furniture collection service in the North East. If you have vintage or antique pieces you no longer need, we'll collect them at no cost and give them a new home through The Vintage Den — keeping them out of landfill. We don’t look for perfect, our aim is to make any required improvements or light repairs to then keep the furniture in use for another few decades. 

What areas do you collect from?

We cover Newcastle, Gateshead, County Durham, Northumberland, Sunderland, and surrounding areas. Where there are multiple pieces we will travel further afield. Not sure if we cover you? Drop us an email and we'll let you know.

What types of furniture do you collect?

We specialise in solid wood and mid-century pieces — sideboards, dining tables, chests of drawers, dressing tables, bookcases, and retro cabinets. All conditions considered. Find out more on our North East Vintage Rescue page.
